Today, my wife and I will be expecting some form of communication back home from our families as the news would probably make it there in the morning.

It wasn’t really major as far as the magnitude is concerned.  It was one of those too subtle to detect.  Unless you are fully concentrated on doing something, then that will be a good breaker.

Doing a bit of geographical research led me to the fact that Dubai is quite in a very stable zone.  The nearest faultline is 120 kilometers away from the UAE.  It is called the Zargos Fault.  It said that it is very unlikely to have any seismic impact on Dubai.  Further reading say that experts predict that the possibility of a tsunami in the region is also minimal because the Persian Gulf waters are not deep enough to trigger one.

Well, that is a bit of a relief.  Bottomline is, nobody got hurt.  Panic among workers and residents were the highlight of the day.  Didn’t they ever think that having the world’s tallest tower built in the area is comfort enough?

I would like to say thanks to these guys.  Somehow I felt that they touched my life in a way through the lyrics of their songs and cherished some memories of looking up to them that kept me from losing hope of what I was to become.

How I wish I was there to witness the historic event.  Thanks to this video from the blog of aileenapolo.  Too bad the concert had to be cut short because the main man, Ely Buendia, had a minor breakdown due to the tremendous stress of losing his mom a couple of days before the event.  Add to that the physical stress he had to endure after undergoing a heart bypass some months back.  He is now in stable condition as of this writing.  Thank God.

Tesla, in particular, was a band that I listened to because of their album, Five Man Acoustical Jam.  They were like a mix of Skid Row and White Lion.  Heck, most of the rock bands before always sound like they’re the same – only changing band names (LOL).  Thanks to the Internet I found almost all the songs I want to hear and now view their videos.  Here are some cuts from that album which were my favorites.

Anyway, my boss is venturing into the possibility of moving the company from the UAE to Switzerland.  The reason being a few things that he really hates about being here in Dubai.  In his own words I quote, “… because whatever I do here I still feel like a second class citizen…”  I actually empathize with him on that but I’ll tell you more about it on my future posts.

Switzerland, one of the countries that I want to go to.  I can only imagine the magnificence of those lush greens that makes it one of the best places to settle in.

But of course, it’s not really a piece of cake.  One main concern is the processing of Visas for employees like me who originated from a third-world country like the Philippines.  If I were a British passport holder then it wouldn’t have been a problem since you can go in and out of any European country without the need for a Tourist or Visit Visa.

Nothing is concrete yet but I promise to keep all of you guys posted.

There simply is a lot of things that I want to do.  And this is one of them.  Somehow the need to have a sense of direction in my life right now as a husband, friend, brother, employee, or simply just a human being, should fuel this wee bit passion of mine and have a bit of a mark in cyberspace.

I am not a good writer.  My choice of words is simply words that we all use everyday.  I wish I can write good enough to properly convey my thoughts and to capture everyone’s imagination.  So once again, join me as I embark on another nth journey of this thing they call blogging.
